Developing Royalmount

Discover the vision of our Vice-President of Design and Tenant Delivery

Our Vice-President of Design and Tenant Delivery, Sophie-Catherine Laflamme, penned an article for Montreal commercial real estate magazine, Espace, on her vision for Royalmount’s development.

Here is a selection of highlights from the article. To read the full piece, follow this link.

“Successful development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations.” This description aptly summarizes what Royalmount plans to accomplish in its development. To achieve this, Royalmount will focus on two key pillars: customer experience and sustainable development.

Sustainable development in support of well-being
In addition to featuring numerous green spaces and eco-responsible initiatives, the Royalmount site will be built according to the concept of the "15-Minute City,” meaning that all services and businesses will be accessible within a 15 minutes’ walking distance. This emphasis on active mobility did not happen by chance: Royalmount has an intentional focus on biophilia—that is, the sense of well-being that nature inspires in human beings—to create an iconic destination where the serenity of nature meets the energy of the city.

An ever-evolving customer experience
An optimal experience is directly tied to the needs of its customers. And, as Sophie-Catherine states, “Design is a powerful tool when it comes to creating a framework that reflects your customers.” The layout of a property must place the needs and wants of its clienteles at the heart of every component. To this end, Royalmount will take a revolutionary approach to design; for example, the programming  will adapt over the years to fulfill the desires and interests of future generations. Employing the latest technologies will also allow to offer a customer experience that meets the ever-evolving expectations of its visitors.”
